Summer is approaching, and it's time for festivals, parties and sporting events to brighten up your stay at our Chalet-Hotel Les Gentianettes. Every so often it is difficult to know what there is to do around you during your stay in our hotel. In this article, let's take a look at the agenda of this summer 2022, a summer season full of entertainment in Haute-Savoie, in the Evian region and the Abondance Valley. The activities on offer are generally located 30-40 kilometres from the hotel. Discover the events in the region that you should not miss this summer!
The weekend of 24, 25 and 26 June 2022
See you on the Portes du Soleil domain, for the 18th edition of the VTT Pass'Portes. Set off to discover the mountains and their breathtaking alpine landscapes by taking part in the next edition of the VTT Pass'Portes. This mountain bike and ATV tour takes place in one of the largest ski areas in Europe: the Portes du Soleil. Adventure lovers, discover a route of more than 80 km through France and Switzerland. This event is for the whole family: children from 9 to 14 years old can participate in their own way, with a reduced course, thanks to the Pass'Portes Kids. The nearest mountain bike departures from the hotel are in Châtel or Morgins.
From 1ᵉʳ to 16 July 2022, classical and contemporary music will be at the Montreux Festival
The Montreux Jazz Festival, which runs from July 1 to 16, 2022, awaits you in the town of Montreux in Switzerland, less than an hour from the Chapelle d'Abondance. Experience around forty LIVE concerts of various musical styles with headliners such as John Legend, Paolo Nutini, Maneskin, Oboy, Asaf Avidan, etc. Many eclectic groups will be present during these two weeks to liven up your holidays in the Abondance region.
From 2 to 3 July 2022, the Châtel Chablais Leman Race, a bike race in the footsteps of the Tour de France for this fourth edition
On the first weekend of July, after a sweet night in one of our rooms, why not take part in the Cyclosportive Châtel Léman Race in a magnificent setting between Switzerland and France! Through sumptuous landscapes crossing the Chablais and the charming village of Châtel, you can choose one of the four courses according to your level. After a great race, come and recharge your batteries in our Spa and our practitioners will be at your disposal.
9 to 11 July 2022: a special Tour de France weekend
July is definitely a month dedicated to cycling fans. Indeed, the 9 and 10th stage of the Tour de France takes place at the Portes du soleil on 9 and 11 July 2022 (AIGLE> CHA TEL LES PORTES DU SOLEIL // REST / MORZINE > MEGÈVE) with a first rest day of the Tour de France 2022 in Châtel on 10 July 2022. And a departure on 11 July from Morzine before heading down to Lake Geneva and Thonon les Bains. The perfect time to book your stay with us and get a front row seat to the biggest international cycling event.
14 to 17 July 2022 : Morzine-Avoriaz Harley days, the national Harley Davidson gathering
Every two years, this is the not-to-be-missed event for all Harley-Davidson fans. It is the biggest gathering of motorcyclists in France: more than 10,000 bikes, 30,000 people, rides and this year the TOTO concert! So get ready for Californian rock'n'roll and get on your motorbikes for the Morzine-Avoriaz Harley Days. A good opportunity to discover the winding roads and majestic landscapes of Haute-Savoie during the summer. As a reminder, our secure underground parking is free for bikes and motorbikes.
17 July 2022: 6ᵉ edition of the Balade Gourmande in La Chapelle d'Abondance
Along the Dranse, the river that runs through the valley of Abondance. Come and stroll along the footpaths along the water, the gourmet exhibitors and local craftsmen. Entertainment and shows around the Eagles of Lake Geneva. Discover the history and agropastoralism of the village and the Abondance Valley.
17 to 23 July 2022: the "Châtel returns to childhood" festival awaits you
During the third week of July, take advantage of your stay at the Gentianettes to give your children a treat with the Châtel Returns to Childhood festival. The town offers four days of entertainment on the theme of the carnival for children, with a show every evening! Châtel is only 5 minutes away from our Chalet-hotel Les Gentianettes. This week, share unique moments with your family in our family rooms.
From 21 to 23rd July 2022, the Amundi Evian Championship, a major international women's golf tournament, takes place
The third week of July is definitely rich in events in the Abondance valley, in the Haute-Savoie department in France. This time, it is in Evian that a major women's golf event is taking place: the Amundi Evian Championship, one of the 5 major women's golf tournaments in the world, held every year on the French shores of Lake Geneva. Our hotel **** les Gentianettes ensures you a peaceful stay, about thirty kilometers from the event where you can already book your tickets.
30 and 31 July 2022: the 2nd "Book Festival" in La Chapelle d'Abondance
Author festival through the village. Discover about fifty local writers of all genres. This Book Festival is intended to be a big party filled with entertainment around readings and dictations. Words, illustrations, and art in its entirety will be honored this weekend in our village at La Chapelle d'Abondance.
From 3 to 7th August 2022, the festival des fondus du macadam invites you to Thonon-les-Bains for a week of live arts.
This year, after years of confinement and cancelled editions, in addition to a visit of the charming town of Thonon-les-Bains, come and live a unique cultural moment at the Festival des fondus du macadam. During 5 days, plunge into the creative madness of the living arts. A programme of 150 performances awaits you: music, theatre, dance, street arts, circus, puppet shows, performances... So many reasons to go with friends or family and take advantage of this show to stay the first week of August at the Chalet-Hotel les Gentianettes.
August 21, 2022, Belle dimanche, the mountain pastures' festival: a traditional Savoyard festival
Dive into the heart of Savoyard folklore by taking part in the 44th edition of the Belle dimanche, la fête des alpages on 21 August 2022. Folk music, local crafts, bandas... Meet in Châtel at the Plaine Dranse and experience an authentic journey of Savoyard traditions.

3 and 4th september 2022: the Alpine Châtel Show for all fans of cars made in the Alps
Notice to all car fans and more particularly to fans of the Alpine brand, the Alpine Chatel Show, a gathering of French Alpine cars, awaits you. On the program: a parade of cars, rally activities, an exhibition of classic vehicles and meetings with the drivers.
8 to 10th September 2022: 74th edition of the Mont Blanc Rally
